Best Ever Brownies

Ingredients:
185g unsalted butter; 185g best dark chocolate (between 50-70% cocoa); 85g plain flour; 40g cocoa powder ( the stuff without sugar; must be sifted before use); 50g white chocolate; 50g milk chocolate; 3 large eggs; 275g golden caster sugar (unrefined; can use ordinary white if necessary)
Instructions:

Cut the butter into smallish cubes and tip into a medium bowl.
Break the dark chocolate into smal pieces and drop into the bowl.
Fill the saucepan full of hot water.
Sit the bowl on the top so that it rests on the rim, not in the water.
Place over lower heat, stirring occasionally, until butter and chocolate have melted.
Leave the mixture to cool to room temperature.

Pre-heat the over to 160C (fan), 180C (no fan) or gas mark 4.
Cut out a square of non-stick baking parchment to line the base of the tin.

With a large sharp knife, chop the white and milk chocolate into chucks.

Whisk the eggs and sugar for 6-8 minutes with electric mixer unti they look like a milkshake.
(You will know it is ready when the mixture becomes really pale and doubled in volume)
Pour the cooked chocolate mixture over the effy mouse, and then gentle fold together using a spatula in wide, exagggerated movements.
The idea is to marry the ingredients without knocking out the air.

Sieve the flour and cocoa powdeer together into a new medium bowl, tapping and shaking to get rid of any lumps.
Now re-sieve the mixed powder into the egg mixture, little by little, mixing as you go, again so as not to remove too much air from the mixture.
Stir in the white and milk chocolate chunks.

Pour the mixture into the baking tin
Ease the mixture into the corners.
Cook in oven for 25 minutes. At end of 25 minutes, pull the tray out and shake it.

Cute Little Indiana Friend from Cuba

Saw this cute little thing on Mary's table the other day.

It was given by her friend back from Cuba.

Pretty amused by its try-to-scare-me-off-but-to-no-avail face. Although Mary said it DOES look scary. =_=''

Oh well....maybe it IS scary if ...

OBSCENITY is Scccaarrryyy!!

Ok...maybe from another angle....

Mr. Little Indian Man with its outstanding little D*ck is still cute, isn't it?

=P

p/s: this suddenly reminds me of a song from childhood. It goes like this: One little two little three little indian, four little five little six little indian, seven little eight little nine little indian, ten little indian man..

low cheese and alcohol tolerance

oh my god.....shame on me shame on me....can't believe i have such a low alcohol (or cheese?) tolerance...

Mary and Pete - both who helped me out a lot in the lab- treated me a farewell dinner in Albertine wine bar. I had only 2-3 glasses of wine and a couple of cheese with bread, and threw up twice in the toilet after that.... oh my god oh my god....even trippled down the little stairs before the toilet...

Shame on you...Asian alcohol dehydrogenation girl, Miss Stella Ng.

Ah...what i could wish for now is a hot bath and a good sleep.

A beautiful encounter in Wagamama 美丽的邂逅

Haha... I can't help ROFL i.e. Rolling On the Floor Laughing (soli soli... not meant to disdain roti canai sekalian's wisdom, but it's for my 50's roti-canai parents' reference..hee hee...) by setting such a title. Sounds pretty provokeful for fantansies of a heartthrob romance eh?:P
Ethos pool, Imperial College
Lady luck was quite a bit on my side today, making it a beautiful yet boredom-free saturday! Mary (the postdoc whom I always turn to whenever I've made a bomb in the lab!) gave me a 2 for 1 Wagamama voucher the other day. So me and Chloe decided to go for lunch after a movie preview in the morning. Manatau...this pretty lady decided to have longer horizontal meditation, so skipped the movie part and went swimming first before feeding in more calories. Oh ya ya, do allow me to speak out of topic a while...Tell u what, finally I've figured out why i like Imperial (this might be the one and only reason wor... :P)!!! Im soooOOOOoooo in LOVE with the swimming and spa pool, especially on saturday morning! Hardly anybody uses the pool at this time during the summer break. It was REALLY relaxing, refreshing, rejuvenating, re-energizing etc. etc. to SLEEP in the spa pool after a 30-minute swim. An absolute Queen-style treatment!
Okok...back to the topic. So I ordered a Chicken Katsu Curry . The portion was simply gigantic! I felt so bloated already even only gobbled down half of what's displayed. However, the breaded chicken breast was simply crispy and yummi-licious. 口感十足! Served together with soft, sticky yet not overcooked (黏度刚好且弹牙的)sushi rice with thick katsu curry on top...oh...food in haven indeed! Chloe had Yaki Udon and Miso soup. Yaki Udon was ok but still not impressing enough to seduce my tastebud la. Hee hee...

When we were about to finish the gigantic portion, suddenly 2 customers were directed by a waiter to come sit next to us. I pouted a bit for discomfort, but not until when I caught a glimpse of a handsome hunk sitting just right next to me! The moment when we glanced at each other, he put a polite smile on his charming face ... oh....I felt like the world has stopped for a sec until he greeted 'hi' to me. Hahaha...I know I sounded a bit bimbotic. Who cares la!!! Chloe couldn't agree more on his irresistable charm too, and hence we decided to...take a photo of him...secretly. :P She pretended to take a photo of me but shifted the angle a bit to capture his handsome face.
But suddenly, the lady came together with him asked us, 'Do you need us to take a photo of both of u? Son, you can do it.' We were like ... oh no... did she find out that we were stalking her son? =_=''
Glutton Queen and the Handsome hunk. He might not seem as handsome as he is on the picture...but trust me, he is really cute! (I ate soooo slowly to let chloe catch a pose of him!)

Glutton Queen and Princess 4-151 being caught red-handed for stalking sbd's son.
Oh btw, since he took a photo of us so I just grabbed the chance to start a conversation with him lor... :P He is an ITALIAN! omg omg omg...it's definitely like a double strike of jackpot!
LOL.

Queen's Summer so Far...

Hee hee! The birth of this blog is definitely out of boredom. Yea, the mundane lab routine - playing around with PCR machine, using pippette more than touching pen, measuring amount as little as microlitre, waiting ENDLESSly for reaction to compete before proceeding to further step - is definitely driving me crazy. Can't imagine how bored m i? Ok ok...let u see the stressed-out punya face below laa.

Haih...sienn-ness ah~~~~
So so so, this blog eh is basically about...
what to PLAY what to EAT what to SEE where to GO who i MET what i DID lalala~~~
In a nutshell, a ''cakplang'' side of Glutton Queen's life in a city called London (yea yea London, where almost one teenager will get stabbed every week...that place la! now only u know lar~~)

Back to what I did recently...
Hmm, came back from Aberdeen last month after my final exams (ok, passed the what-class-u-get-huh punya question pls...). Was a wonderful trip with 3 wonderful guys. Photos speak louder than words. Here comes the pictures!
Italian & Greek food I had in Aberdeen.. Queen's multiple images in Aberdeen
Michael, Charles and I in a sea of flowers
Aberdeen's version of 'The Road not taken'
Posing in front of an abandoned house
''Megasales is back'' -erm, mind the sexy 100% pure-fat tummy.. :P

Days back from the lovely trip were all about slaving 9am-6pm for my cute auntie-like supervisor, Dr Rosemary Fisher (oh, rosie rosie...). I found resemblance in her with my mom in a way that i still couldn't describe verbally. Anyway, Im just very grateful for doing this summer project under her supervision, although her pushy-ness did drive me up to the 100-feet wall and once even thought of jumping down.
.
This summer placement so far, despite its infliction of an ass-kicking pain for waiting as long as 3 hours before proceeding to the next step, is all fine with its boredom within expectation made. But somehow, I find that my mood swing nowadays is soooOO much controlled by the results I got from experiments. And even the lullaby that normally soothes me to sleep has been replaced by the why-my-PCR-doesn't-work mantra. Argh, is this a sign of workaholism?!Hahaha...worry not, worry not.How is that possible to tag me as a workaholic while what i do during non-working time is just cooking, eating, catching up long-lost movie marathon and leisure walking in my room???
